CLAT 2018 - Online applications are invited for admission to Undergraduate and Post-Graduate Degree Programmes in Law for the academic session 2018-19 in Nineteen (19) National Law Universities of India 


Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2018 will be held on 13th May 2018. It will be held at a National Level, across the country. Every year, one of the National Law University (NLU) conducts the entrance exam for admission in 18 NLUs.

About CLAT 2018 

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all India entrance examination conducted annually for admission to Nineteen (19) National Law Universities for their under-graduate and post-graduate degree programs

The Common Law Admission Test-2018 (CLAT) will be conducted by the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) Kochion 13th May 2018 at the test Centers set up in different cities at the national level 


Eligibility Criteria CLAT 2018 

Undergraduate Program (Five Year Integrated LLB (Hons) Course) 

Candidates should be Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of (i) Forty Five percent (45%) marks in case of candidates belonging to Unreserved/OBC/Speciality Abled Persons (SAP)/NRI/NRI sponsored categories and (ii) Forty percent (40%) marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April 2018 are also eligible to apply 

Age Limit: Candidates should be below Twenty (20) years of age in case of Unreserved/NRI/NRI sponsored categories and below twenty-two (22) years in case of SC/ST /OBC/SAP categories as on 01st July 2018 


Post-Graduate Programme (One Year LLM Course) 

Candidates must be LLB or equivalent degree examination with a minimum of Fifty Five percent (55%) marks in case of Unreserved/OBC/SAP categories and Fifty percent (50%) in case of SC/ST categories. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April / May 2018 are also eligible to apply

Scheme of CLAT 2018 Exam 

NUALS Kochi will hold the exam in 13th May 2018. CLAT Exam Pattern has not seen any major changes over the year. Listed below are the highlights of exam pattern of the law entrance exam: 


For UG Courses 

It is a computer-based online exam which composes 5 sections for which aspirants shall be provided 2 hours to finish the exam. Negative marking of 0.25 mark is allotted for incorrect answers 


(i) English & Rreading Comprehension - 40 Max Marks 

(ii) General Knowledge /Current Affairs - 50 Max Marks 

(iii) Elementary Mathematics - 20 Max Marks 

(iv) Legal Aptitude - 20 Max Marks 

(v) Logical Reasoning - 20 Max Marks 

Duration of the Test: 2 hours 


For PG Courses 

The questions paper consists of three sections namely Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence and Other Law subjects such as Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, Family Law, Property Law, IPR etc 

You shall be given 2 hours to complete the exam and negative marking of 0.25 mark will be implied for an incorrect answer 

(i) Constitutional Law - 50 Max Marks 

(ii) Jurisprudence- 50 Max Marks 

(iii) Other Law subjects - 50 Max Marks 

Duration of the Test: 2 hours 

There will be total 200 Multiple Choice Questions 

For every correct answer, a candidate will be awarded 1 mark and ¼ mark will be deducted for every wrong answer 


Schedule of CLAT 2018 Exam 

Examination shall be conducted in one session of two hours. The scheduled date for Exam is 13th of May 2018 during 03.00 pm to 05.00 pm; Additional time shall be given to specially abled persons (Divyang) as per norms 

Exam Centers 

The Examination is contemplated to be held in different cities in India. As per the available information there were around 45,000 applications in the CLAT-2018 and the examination was conducted at 158 Centers in 60 cities. Total 42,217 examinees appeared in CLAT-2018 Exam 


1) The SP should be a business enterprise which should fulfill all authorization or registration requirements, under different Acts like Income Tax, Companies Act, Partnership Act, Service Tax etc. whichever applicable. Firm should have an office in India 
The SP should have proper experience to organize online exam in India with an objective of offering relevant IT Solutions and Services that are the subject matter of the proposal i.e. conduct of entrance/recruitment Computer Based Exam 

2) The preference may be given to the SP who are certified by leading accreditation agencies i.e., CMMI and institutions 
3) The SP shall be single point of contact with the office of the Convener, Implementation Committee, CLAT-2018 and shall be responsible to it for the execution and delivery of the work 

(4) The SP must have successfully executed in the past years similar project(s) on all India basis, out of which at least one should be of conducting of Computer Based Admission Test in 15 cities or more and should have proven minimum capacity of conducting Computer Based Testing (online mode) of 20,000 candidates in single shift 

The documentary evidence in form of work/contract and client report must be enclosed (SP’s past achievement in this regard shall be considered for technical evaluation) 


Application Procedure CLAT 2018 

The Application-Fee won’t be refunded once paid. This year, there might be changes in the fee structure therefore check the official link time to time
